- Relations with Management
- Personality
Type 1 – Strong Knowledge, Strong Relations with Management, Strong Personality
You will learn the most with him. Stick around even if you do not have the best of relations with him. You will enjoy the best growth with him. He will provide you with challenging opportunities and be there to support you. Its work which will keep him happy, deliver and he will return the favor.
Type 2 – Strong Knowledge, Strong Relations with Management, Weak Personality
The problem with him is that he will never take responsibility. He is not the kind of person who will stand for you. Chances are that he is painting a wrong picture of you in front of management while remaining sweet in front of you. You will generally remain under stress here as there would be no real growth.
Type 3 - Strong Knowledge, Weak Relations with Management, Weak Personality
Type 4 – Weak Knowledge, Weak Relations with Management, Weak Personality
Good News. You are going to be promoted soon. Type 3 will leave under stress and Type 4 will be asked to leave soon.
Type 5 – Weak Knowledge, Strong Relations with Management, Strong Personality
God Save you. The worst scenario as he is going to bully you and you have no support. The biggest problem would be that he will not understand the job and blame you for non performance. He will keep you in a job as he wants to be secure, but will always push you as he does not have the skill set required for the job.
Chances are that your boss’s boss also does not have required skill set. You can stay in this job but chances for growth are low.
Type 6 - Strong Knowledge, Weak Relations with Management, Strong Personality
He is a fighter. Fighting for you, work and everybody else. You will learn under him, but chances of growth are less as he does not have buy in from the management.
He will eventually leave the organization. You can pitch for his position but chances are low or join him hoping he maintains good relation with management in next job.
